    That is completely against their business model.

    Outpatient rehab centers ensure that people are an “addict” until their insurance runs out. It doesn’t matter what substance they test positive for as long as it’s mildly considered taboo and they are able to convince a person that they have a problem.

    Having been through the full gambit of alcohol rehab myself, I can say most “treatment centers” are fucking predatory. It’s a disgusting industry and the practices I have seen can be vile.

    On the flip side, some people do need actual treatment for very serious conditions. Addiction is absolutely not a joke and it can take years to overcome if that person is willing to change. For sure, good treatment centers exist, but the ones available to the commoner are basically unregulated and used as a way to mitigate jail time.

      It’s almost as if a for-profit health care system doesn’t have as its top objective to make people well/healthy and keep them that way…
