Last night, a Peacekeeper LLC Atlas and long with three subcontractor mechs landed on a periphery planet where suspected local bad actors were hiring unscrupulous mercenaries to further inflame local political unrest.

The Peacekeeper LLC subcontractors included a Shadow Hawk, Wolverine, and Locust. All pilots had been approved by Peacekeeper LLC background screenings.

Upon landing, the lance was immediately met with mercenaries who refused to identify themselves. The opposing mechs were determined to consist of Phoenix Hawk, Wasp, Stalker, and Victor. With unknown loyalty, the opposing lance will be labeled OPFOR for record keeping purposes.

The OPFOR lance closed distance on each other once they were invisual range. The Peacekeeper LLC lance was closer to a wooded area and the majority of the lance stayed near the woodline. The Locust, being the fastest mech on the ground did attempt to run forwar, taking a hit on it’s leg armor from the Phoenix Hawk. Undetered, the Locust pilot continued forward, trading fire with the Phoenix Hawk and enemy Stalker intermittently, and was eventually able to get behind the Stalker. It made several attempts to kick it down before rushing forward later in the battle and made similar attempts to kick the enemy victor down. The Locust eventually had a leg blown off by the Stalker’s missiles. The Locust pilot was recovered unharmed and approvals are being submitted for the pilot to receive time-and-a-half pay for the duration of combat time.

Meanwhile the rest of the Peacekeeper Lance traded fire with the OPFOR. It was clear the OPFOR were gaining ground toward the Peacekeeper LLC Lance. The Shadow Hawk was able to disable the main gun of the OPFOR Phoenix Hawk by severing off the arm of the mech.

Eventually the Peacekeeper LLC forces engaged in intense close combat in a wooded area.

The OPFOR Victor over the course of the close combat fired it’s AC-20 cannon five times. Fortunately, all shots in the engagement were misses.

The Peacekeeper Atlas attempted to fire the AC-20 on the Victor in reply, but also missed. Combat became a series of kicks and punches thrown between the mechs.

Eventually the damaged OPFOR Phoenix Hawk, with it’s main gun now disabled attempted an aggressive jump jet assisted melee assault on the Atlas. While it was in mid-air the Atlas turned and fired it’s AC-20, critically hitting the Phoenix Hawk dead center and instantly destroying it.

At that point, the OPFOR mechs made a hasty withdrawl. The Peacekeeper LLC lance consolidated a defensive position and began after action reporting.

Note: Big thanks to a friend who provided the majority of the mechs. I only had one suitable mech (the Atlas) painted up for a game this small.
