I like the modern military style radio chatter. It’s something that would be out of place in 40k. I also can’t stop looking at how uneven the Sergeant’s face is, his eyes have seen some things.

Yup. I wouldn’t doubt they got some inspiration from early Astarties. And they may have worked with him after they were both poached by games workshop as well. But no official connection.
