    That’s great that these men got exonerated. It would have been better if this never happened at all. But, what I want to know is what happened to the cops that framed them?

      Good question, I dug around. The article mentioned “Dirty Thirty”, which was an entire corrupt NY precinct that led to their imprisonment.

      The Wikipedia article for Dirty Thirty lists charges, but it looks like not even all 33 of the arrested officers received charges, and the charges listed don’t look very severe for the number of people they harmed.

      Also from OP’s article:

      Gardine was immediately placed in immigration detention and faces deportation, as it’s suspected that he entered the country illegally from Jamaica as a teenager.

      That’s insane to immediately deport a guy you wrongfully imprisoned for 27 years.
