One of the big new features Google is preparing for the Pixel 8 Pro is “Video Boost,” which promises to greatly improve video quality through post-processing on Google’s servers. While there’s no firm release date for that just yet, the Google Photos app is setting the foundation.

So if the boost is happening on Google servers, it’s tied to the Pixel 8 pro as a sales gimmick?
Rumors say it was intended to be on-device originally but the chip just wasn’t capable enough. I guess they settled for gate keeping it to their flagship device anyway.
yep. I don’t think the Pixel 8’s AI capabilities are much more powerful than the 7. Most of the new features they advertised are offloaded to the servers.
