    I feel like the existence of dogs bred for their ability to point might suggest they’ve got a decent baseline understanding of the concept.

      That’s really interesting, I didn’t know that dogs themselves could point with their wrists. I was just thinking about them understanding our pointing.

      It looks like wild elephants naturally understand pointing. I would think that means they are doing it themselves, their trunks seem ideal for it.

        Yeah, pointers are typically hunting dogs that find birds, like pheasants, that are on the ground and point them out to their owners.
