Honestly, I thought the guns and nudist update were a joke at first until the creator confirmed that those things will indeed be in the game, but now there will apparently also be … rainbow poop.

It’s even on the official wiki already: https://cult-of-the-lamb.fandom.com/wiki/Sins_of_the_flesh

There were multiple updates and DLCs - but the good part is that the content updates are free, and the DLC is purely cosmetical, unlike other studios who often do it the other way around ;)

      • Blood Moon Festival - free seasonal event. You can retroactively trigger it by simply changing the clock of the system you’re playing on. Content: A ritual, new follower forms, some new decorations / items.

      • Relics of the Old Faith - free update: New achievements, new NPCs and additional storyline, new items, added permadeath mode, added photo mode & stickers, “heavy” attackse, a bunch of “Relics” with different features/abilities, new crusades, new enemies & minibosses, new commandement stones, and a bunch of other stuff like critters and follower quests.

      • The Heretic Pack was released alongside Relics of the Old Faith and is paid DLC adding new follower forms and some decorations plus a new fleece. The Cultist pack offers different follower forms and decorations.

      • Don’t Starve Update - free of charge: Penitence gameplay mode (adds hunger & fatigue meter), new follower form & decorations, additional music tracks

      • Sins of the Flesh - not released yet, planned as a free-of-charge update early next year. From what we’ve seen now, they will add at least one new ritual, guns as a new weapon type, the rainbow poop item, and as per description of the devs “additional story elements, focus on cult depth, and customization”.

IMHO Relics of the Old Faith added the biggest chunk of gameplay content, but a lot of it is postgame stuff.
