Hypate is one of the muses in Greek mythology, specifically one of the three Muses of the Lyre recognized in the Delphic hymns. The three Muses of the Lyre, also known as the Apollonides, are daughters of the god Apollo. Hypate, along with her sisters Nete and Mese, were associated with parts of the musical instrument, the lyre.
