I’m genuinely surprised it annoys anyone tbh, it’s just a couple of numbers. I laugh when my kids catch me and be as cringey as I can with it at every opportunity. Good harmless fun I can exploit for years to come.

It’s great at that, had a colleague run a diff through Claude and it explained how the new code was better and how the optimizations worked. Then my colleague realised they’d run the diff the wrong way round, fed Claude the new diff and Claude happily explained how the new code was better and how the optimizations worked.

1·28 days agoYou can write GPL rust code, you can also write non-gpl rust code. Gnu coreutils are gpl, if I choose to write functionality compatible with coreutils from scratch in rust I can relicense that as I please (ie not GPL) OP is postulating the driver behind rust rewrites is not for the language features but to allow coreutils functionality to be relicensed as closed source software.
10 o’clock tea and elevenses could both reasonably fit the bill here I feel.
3·1 month agoI’ve wanted to for years. I’ve tried to multiple times. Like I love computers and programming I can get absolutely lost in code for hours. For whatever reason when I start to look at networking my brain switches off and says nope. I can clean enough to hack what I need for the most part, but of I strive for any depth of knowledge on the subject my brain shuts down.
Hoping this article is the ticket.
