Sequel to four lions, four bears.
Ok, but if great games exist why should I care about the ones that are only good?

You can get those here, but its normally cheaper overnight when I am not using anything and more expensive during the day when I am. There isn’t much I could load shift so it probably isn’t worth it.
At some point looking to get solar and maybe a battery, the battery depends on the export rate as if only terrible rates are available it makes more sense to get a battery and possibly even cut off from the grid entirely as you still have a standing charge here even if you use nothing or only send energy back to the grid.

No, no one else was paying those things. A lot of bills were included in my rent so I had very little expenses after paying rent. Landlord was still a wanker, but he died of karma cancer.

Got a heat pump, tbh the best single energy saving thing I could do is switch to gaming on a steamdeck. That may even take around 1/3rd off my already low energy bill. Maybe get a fairly low spec and low energy usage mini PC. How much do you really need to run Rimworld, Factorio or CDDA?
The idea of having 2 PCs for my own gaming seems odd, higher hardware costs but it may pay for its self in energy savings. Should get a meter to check what my PC actually uses when running these games though. Or just drop higher end games entirely?

There were loads of free browser games back then

Unable to save, or unwilling to? Even when I was earning £8k several years ago I was able to comfortably keep a few thousand in the bank. Just made sure not to spend more than I earnt.
A lot of those habits remained. Now I don’t know what to spend money on, saving multiple hundreds a month and my only increased expense is that we bought a house. Give it a few more years of inflation and that won’t even cost much more than renting a bedroom did.
I like cooking all my meals so why would I change? Costs like £10-15 a week each. Now that I have a house with a small amount of garden space I have also started growing herbs, if anything that is reducing my food bill. Unlimited rosemary!
Not played those. You can make Factorio with that team size
Which would suggest over 1000 plays for that money to be shared across. Presumably people paying are heavy users so that could be pretty easy to get over a month. Especially with shared accounts.
So you are getting your “fair” share of that 70%. It’s just being shared across so many different things.

I don’t have a dishwasher or a car. There is also no financial incentive to do this for many people. Not sure if there are many loads I could move to a different time of day really, maybe washing machine but I dry clothes outside so I run it at a time that optimises drying time.
My favourite games of today are also made by fewer than 30 people though

It depends, it’s certainly inaccurate to describe all F2P games as doing this. Runescape, at least back in the 2000s, was F2P or a monthly sub. That was it.

I already had my gas connection cut off. Use 4G for internet because the wired ISPs here are shit for various reasons. The only things going in/out of my house that I use are clean/dirty water and electricity.
Solar/battery possibly with a petrol generator backup would allow cutting off the mains electricity too. The daily service charge just to have a mains connection costs as much per year as buying a petrol generator. As long as you don’t need to use much petrol then it rapidly becomes a pretty reasonable choice.
I suppose it depends what export tariffs are like, if they pay you a decent amount for sending energy back then it might cover the service charge for having a grid connection. If it doesn’t, get fucked. Disconnect me, I ain’t paying.

Pretty sure that would be my bike

Given that the overall poverty rate is 21%, depressingly this is better than I would have expected.

Isn’t child porn already illegal though? Even pretending to be I am pretty sure counts by UK laws.

Give it enough time and those left are the ones happy to just follow orders.

If they rise, they rise. Just makes solar an even more fucking obvious choice.

Not all ships are bad. There is a pretty cool 3 mast sailing ship around here from time to time.
Started living there and working in that job before covid, continued after. Never lived in a city though, that was a mid sized town. At the time I didn’t have a car or garden. Still don’t have a car.
