Russia is worse then the US is, but the US is working on it. Both are helping out likeminded European groups. Musk was turning up at German and British facist party events for a reason.

And here I was worried, that it might end up in a democracy.
They will complain that the US is paying for Canadian health care.

There is the reason the Ferhman-Belt tunnel is being built. Perfect to avoid the Danish parts of Jutland. It even manages to avoid Vikings history for the most part. After all that bit was Slavic back then.

MrMakabar@slrpnk.netBanned from communityto Memes@lemmy.ml•Ah yes the "enlightened" democraciesEnglish46·2 days agoYour entire point, though, relies on painting the Communists as comparable evils to the Nazis, which is quantitatively and qualitatively divorced from reality. Again, the Nazis industrialized mass murder deliberately, and figures like Bandera sided with them deliberately against the Soviets, who were a force for good. Upholding Nazi sympathizers is a bad thing.
Just to be clear, as in my initial post:
So a lot of them were initially rather happy about it. That quickly changed though.
I pretty much said that Stalin was mass murderer and did not run Ukraine very well. I do not think any of what you wrote really disproves that. You do not need to be on Nazi level evil, to be evil.
We are also talking about modern day Russia introducing the resolution for a reason. Basically it would be Bandera wanted an independent Ukraine, so everybody who wants an independent Ukraine is a Nazi. If the West agrees with that resolution, then that would be used. This way they choose to be absent, as to not be in that vote.

Also the Great Purge was not mass murder?
Just saying there were reasons for a lot of people to not like Stalin. You know enemy of my enemy is a friend kind of situation.

However everything else is empty, which is unusual. In normal times Russia has its forces deeper inside the country, so they are not destroyed at the first day of a potential invasion and more importantly to defend Moscow in case of a coupe. Given what Wagner did Moscow not having many soldiers around it, is certainly a bold choice.

MrMakabar@slrpnk.netOPMto Degrowth@slrpnk.net•You Know What?... Bring On the Population Collapse!English91·6 days agoIf you wait in a line, it would be better for you to have less people in front of you. That does not devalue the life of everybody in front of you. Same story for demographics. There are advantages to having a shrinking population. That does not mean that it is the morally right call to commit mass murder or something like that.
The reality is that fertility rates on all continents, but Africa are below replacement today. That means many countries are going to have shrinking populations in the near future. Obviously that has consequences and at least I do not see a problem in discussing them.
Also no demographics are not going to destroy capitalism by themself. However less workers means workers gain power. If and how they use that is a different question and the fact of the matter is nobody knows. It is a bit like watching a weather forecast and complaining that it does not include a call to revolution.
Would be an option. Another really good one would be a reform of the election system. It is insane that Labour got 2/3 of the seats in parliament with only 1/3 of the votes. Even worse with Reform polling at about 1/3 of the votes right now.
