  • I’m honestly not sure. I think it might be. When I play games, my ping is high. I’m not sure if you play anything but battlefield 1 was around 100, even though I think that’s an issue with the lobbies. Arc Raiders is giving me regular network/performance issue icons. I’m getting a ping and packet loss notification multiple times per game.

I’m on xfinity in Massachusetts so it supposed to be one of the top performance providers in the country.

And yeah, I’ll likely ditch the Eero and buy Orbi satellites if I don’t get rid of it all and start with a new system.

  • I’m considering a used Arris s33. Current netgear is an x4 ac3200. I just looked into it more and it’s not as old as I thought. DOCSIS 3.1 as well. I’m assuming it still needs to be upgraded?

I’ll definitely consider the Deco x. The x25 is on sale for $142. X20 for $130. X55 for $150. Should I just go with x20?

Yes, all five bedrooms have an Ethernet connection in the wall. An Xfinity decided to cut the cables out but I just rewired them all. Nobody in the house will use their ports though… they want WiFi. Anyway, yes, I have five connections upstairs. Router is on first floor.

Awesome info. Thank you very much for the response.

Just to be clear, if the current setup covers most of the house and WiFi speeds aren’t important, I shouldn’t just buy more orbi satellites to use with the Orbi router and a new modem to save money? I don’t mind spending the money but the other three people in the house are older men who are watching YouTube and looking at Facebook marketplace. They can’t even be bothered to run Ethernet cable from the wall to the PC’s.

Anyway, thank you for the reply.

  • Yeah, I’m doing quite a bit of research and they seem like they’re great but not what I’m after. As chaotic as my music is, there are layers and details that just don’t come through on my more fun headphones. For now, I want something that’s clear, good instruemnt separation and detail with modest amount of sub bass, clean mid bass and clean treble. I suppose the term is balance but I keep reading reviews about popular IEM’s and what people are willing to put up with and I’m just like… the excellent sub bass doesn’t matter to me if the instrument separation is muddy. At this point I’m just going to order the Kefine Delci or Truthear Hexa maybe.

  • Great response and much appreciated. I’ve always been an over-ear headphone listener and I’m really excited to start collecting IEM’s. I’m dabbling with cheap ones for now and once I know what I like, I’ll start buying more substantial IEM’s.

As far as the Chu go, I definitely agree with you. I suppose I meant that for 20 bucks, something that I can keep in my pocket for when I need a pair of IEM’s while grocery shopping, tinkering in the garage, listening to podcasts, riding my bike, etc. they’re great. I tried sitting down with them and running them through my ifi ZEN DAC this morning and I won’t be doing that again.

Just curious, what’s you opinion of budget planar IEM’s? I don’t think I’ll mess around with KZ again but AliExpress has great sales on KZ right now and I was considering trying them one more time. I believe it’s the PRX that I was considering for $15. $63 on Amazon.

As a person who was an atheist for my entire adult life, so 20 years, we are incorrect. It has become very clear to me over the last two years that a notion that we are born, die and its lights out forever is wildly naive. I’m not sure which religion is correct, if any, but there’s something. Google Zoroastrianism if you’re open minded about. I’m not saying that it’s the one hit the abrahamic religions base a lot of their values on i and it predicates all the religion theatrics.

  • Edit: I’m 15 min into a tryhackme course and it’s pretty fun.

I wouldn’t mind starting in some sort of entry level IT position. It looks like most of them start around $25/hr here which is fine. My only real goal is to transition into an industry with room to grow. I don’t care about being wealthy. I don’t know how to describe it but I need a job that gives me some sort of fulfillment. I’m leaving the booze industry because I’d rather self immolate than continue in a field where there’s a defined ceiling and no real reason to put in hard work.

As far as my interest in tech goes… it’s hard to say. I bought a Chromebook Plus for the simplicity but I find myself using the enabled Linux more and more every day. I spent about 10 hours trying to get Fallout: New Vegas installed this weekend and now that I have it running, I’m not really interested in playing it. I think the fun was trying to get it running on my Chromebook when I was told that I couldn’t/ it wouldn’t be worth it. (another reason why I don’t use Reddit anymore.) That being said, I think I enjoy learning new skills and problem solving more than I care about tech… if that makes sense.

Anyway, I do appreciate your response.
