That’s not really surprising tbh.

That’s not really surprising tbh.

Works that way with pain meds too. Utter bullshit
Well, I totally get where you’re coming from. And I 100% support the validity of your take and critque.
Myself, I like the fact that it’s really single character focused. It allows for a more, I dunno, immersive flawed narrator kind of experience. It’s all through the lens of the MC, and while I recognize that it has drawbacks that you very clearly listed, it works for me.
I think part of why it works for me is the “wizard of oz” effect. Is the land real, or is it an expression of the mind of the MC? That slightly sketched vibe to the characters enhances that feel, and I think reflects that Thomas himself isn’t sure. He’s got this disconnect from everyone around him, and it makes the style of it seem more like an expression of his perception rather than our perception.
Gotta reread the series soon lol
Tbh, the fediverse isn’t really big enough for sub genres to need their own communities. It makes it harder to find good conversation. I would love to see another general metal community to diversify off of .world, but the ones I’ve seen try tend to dry up fast.
But, hey, contact admins, see if they’ll put you on! Nothing wrong with trying!

It’s a kisnt kn85. It’s not tiny, but it’s compact enough to comfortably sit on my knee. 13 inches, plus a tad
https://kisnt.net/products/kisnt-kn85-wireless-mechanical-keyboard
Keys are gentle, but responsive; just enough clack to be pleasant. As a gaming keyboard, I like it better than my Logitech wireless, or my wired Microsoft natural ergo. As a general typing keyboard, well it’s my favorite non ergonomic because the key response really is perfect for my hands. I tend to prefer full size for serious writing, and need an ergonomic if I’m going to be at it for extended times (like editing a book), but for comfy typing around the house? Bang on.
I feel you with radials getting a tad overwhelming. I cope well, and I’m not diagnosed, but it’s easy to get lost, especially since bg3 in particular likes to occasionally move things around. I’ve put in a few thousand hours on that game, and I still get a little frustrated running a wizard or cleric. Other casters, I tend to use a more limited range of spells, so I can just ignore anything past the first two radials.
I agree, they’re “not that bad”
And that they aren’t “that good” either.
They just tend to be low effort pandering to a limited range audience. Which is fine! Targeting an audience is part and parcel of creating anything with a goal of anyone else being interested.
It does not make a given project broadly accessible, which means that until folks here in the fediverse have easy access to filtering methods, folks are gonna complain.
I look at it like porn. I don’t want to see porn on my feed, so I take steps to minimize it. I don’t enjoy most pizzacake comics, so I take steps to minimize it. I have been successful with both of those. I only see porn when a new community gets created, and I only see pizzacake when I’m not using an app that has keyword filtering for posts.
Which is ideal, imo. It means fans can enjoy, and I don’t have to flick my finger an extra time to get past.
What? [email protected] didn’t know you can just scroll past, roll your eyes, and move on with your day?

Well, to me the question comes down to where you want to play.
Consoles are arguably better in bed relaxing (and yes, there’s ways to do that on pc, but it isn’t the default setup). PCs have the advantage if you want a more fully immersive setting where you’re upright and focused.
Now, please remember that this is mypreference set, and doesn’t automatically apply to others, despite the use of the casual inclusive “you” up there. It should probably be “one” but sometimes I prefer to use you in the same way for my own pleasure.
Just like how, in my old age, I prefer the comfort of a couch or bed vs even the most comfy computer chair I’ve found. However, I generally dislike consoles themselves. The whole locked in ecosystem thing with limitations on gear and extra costs to play online just annoy the fuck out of me. I still prefer the experience of pc gaming overall, but end up not using my desktop hardly at all.
Luckily, the steam deck exists! Best of both worlds. With a docking station and controller, you aren’t even limited to the small screen size. It really is my preference for gaming now. If I really want m&k play, I have a great little mechanical keyboard an even greater friend gave me, and a wireless mouse that does okay for most games. Which, I do that sometimes, even if I’m playing in bed and not docked. It’s a little trifling to set up, but my arthritis gets tired of holding the deck, and aren’t happy with a controller either.
I’m going to be sad if/when my deck dies. No way I can afford to replace it, and parts aren’t guaranteed to always be available.
But, yeah, if limited to standard pc gaming vs a console, my body makes the console the default.

I would say your best bang for the buck is something concentrated you can add in small amounts, combined with cheap frozen veggies.
Marmite, fish sauce, whatever kind of umami face slapper you prefer, plus a handful of frozen peas will go a long way towards satisfying you rather than just feeding. Gotta go easy on stuff like marmite though, the salt levels combined with the packet can be intense.
But you can grab a bag of peas, plus whatever other veg you like. Split them up into single serving containers of whatever sort you prefer, then just pull them as needed. You gotta make sure that the biggest pieces will be done in the time ramen takes to boil and finish, but that isn’t difficult

That’s an absurd claim!

It’s a laundry list at this point.
Now, I gotta give the caveat that 95% of the porn I see is communities from fedinsfw.app that pop up when they’re new, and then I block them. The “fappening” radically shifted my personal tolerance for porn, and the standards I have for it, so I end up not using it very often. It’s become a turn off almost entirely.
But, part of what I dislike is the obviousness of the fakeness, and alongside that the lack of ability to believe any of the performers are actually having fun. There used to be porn where, no matter how badly filmed, or if it had a story or not, the performers at least tried to be believable.
Since it all feels so empty and mindless, it makes all the trappings of incest, “dominance”, and even amateur role play just bad. Like, I’m so far past done with all of it, but the shit with someone putting their foot on the face of the person they’re fucking? Why? Why is that in so many gifs that get posted? It’s awkward and stupid. How anyone can see that dozens of times and not have their immersion break enough to lose arousal, I have no idea.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not kink shaming. Like what you like, that’s okay. It’s the inundation of bad kink videos that’s my pet peeve.
I’m just tired of the spitting and the fake moans and the artificial and poorly done sex talk.
And, again, there’s the reality that it’s really difficult to tell if everyone on screen actually wants to be there. Some performers are public enough that you can know they’re doing it professionally, and that’s great. But most of them? It’s obvious they don’t really want to be there, even the men. Yeah, they’re maybe enjoying some of the sensations, but it’s still empty. And I just don’t enjoy that at all.
It seeped into “amateur” porn as well. It’s impossible to hope that anything billed as amateur isn’t just a job they’re doing, desperate to escape the capitalist hellscape of reality by fucking on camera. There’s no passion, no love, no goodness and joy to it, just people fucking like robots to sell.
This is rantish, I know, and i swear I’m not shitting in what people enjoy, what they like to do. It’s the porn of it that’s just so damn badly done that it becomes disgusting. Or akin to watching footage of an insect mate. And that just isn’t enjoyable to me

Well, ignoring any veracity of the story, as a hypothetical it has a degree of moral validity. Let me repeat, I’m exploring it as a hypothetical, and won’t go into that specific story until the end. So if anyone starts screeching before they’ve read my wall of text, they can fuck right off.
Incest is a thorny subject because there’s a shit ton that can go wrong, and in any realistic sense is going to go wrong. But purely as a hypothetical, if everything went perfect, nobody gets hurt. To me, that makes it none of anyone else’s business, and ethically neutral.
But look at that caveat. It’s doing a lot of work. Everything going perfect is just so unrealistic. The power dynamic of parent and child, even as adults makes it nigh impossible for there to be less imbalance than between two random adults. And any relationship has some degree of power imbalance because that’s the nature of a dynamic human interaction. You can get that balance close to ideal, but even something like a minor difference in height plays a subtle, subconscious role in interactions.
But the story as it was presented (if my memory isn’t totally off) didn’t bother me. I don’t have a built in anti incest thing for others. As long as meaningful consent is present, it’s no more my business than it is if you enjoy getting pegged, or like sniffing panties, or anything else that isn’t being done with harm.
Now, the teenage with an adult thing is sketchy, but age of consent varies on a legal level, and they never said where they’re from. Not that something being legal makes it okay, but it does mean that there’s no single consensus on when a person is allowed to exercise their body autonomy via consenting to sex.
However that specific story says the person was 14. That throws a big ol’ wrench into the hypothetical gears. That is below the point where I believe consent can be meaningful. Not that it’s utterly impossible, but I’ve never known a single 14 year old that could reach the standard of meaningful. The difference in emotional development just between 14 and 15 is massive. The extra social development is too. So I’m of the mind that, if they story is real, the kid in the story was harmed via their sexual development being thrown off its proper course.
See, that’s one of the big issues with teenagers and adults interacting sexually. When age peers interact sexually, there’s a degree of similarity in how they approach their acts. It’s a mutual learning curve. While there is still some degree of pressure that can occur to push one party past boundaries, that in itself is part of psycho-sexual development.
When an adult is involved, and the teen can’t form meaningful consent, all of it becomes out of scale and out of a comfortable pace of progression.
That’s where the story turns into one of abuse. There’s no way the op of that story could have reached adulthood with a healthy and balanced sexual self. Just not possible. Had it been a one time thing, I could maybe see the story as something to shrug off as “people be trippin”. One event isn’t inherently harmful. But it didn’t even end when the arms healed iirc. So that’s proof his normative sexual development was harmed.
To sum up: as an idea, it’s less than ideal, but nothing I really care about. As a specific story, the mom did a very bad thing

Damn, you are fast.
Thank you admins for not only being willing to deal with crap like that, but keep us informed like this.
I’m sorry asshole companies are taking up so much of y’alls time and energy

Living proof that there’s no such thing as a perfect religion, and that no religion is immune to bad actors violating its precepts. Dude is outright ignoring the entire point of Buddhism, on top of going against right action and right thought. Blatantly, horribly against. But he’s still allowed to call himself Buddhist, a monk, and people refer to him that way despite the clear proof he’s neither.
It’s why no religion should ever have authority of any kind, period.

They aren’t sterile, and I’ve never actually run into anyone that seemed to think they are.
What they are is clean enough
The paper is rolled up, relatively dry, usually wrapped in a barrier, and isn’t a food product that will draw unusual amounts of pathogen carrying critters. So you end up with something that is cleaner than the things you use it on, akin to rag you pull out of a drawer that you washed weeks ago. Or a dish that’s been sitting in your cabinet for similar periods.
When it comes down to what they’re used for commonly, that’s clean enough. It won’t be bringing pathogens into contact with anything you’ll take inside your body. That’s all that matters.
Mind you, it assumes you’re storing them in a way that keeps junk off of them. But as long as that assumption holds, you can use them as napkins (which are no more sterile), use them to mop up spills (likely cleaner than av actual mop), as a crumb barrier and wrapper for a sandwich, whatever.
There’s really nothing you would be likely to use them for that would be problematic, particularly in an emergency. Better than toilet paper in that regard, as tp is treated to break down easily in water (and the chemicals used to do that stink btw). If you need a wad of something to cram down on a wound to control bleeding, as an example, paper towels would be better than a random shirt you pulled off your body, as it’s going to have lower concentrations of things like staph, yeast, and strep, as well as the numerous other critters that populate our hides even fresh out of a shower.

That’s a good set of rules!
Also, I went history diving to see what the what was what.
Daaaaaaamn!
I have seen some fucked up knives in my day, but that is a doozie! And my best friend consistently uses his knives on bare marble counters, then runs them through the dishwasher. I think the only knife I’ve seen in person worse than yours had been in a ditch for at least a week after having fallen off the back of a motorcycle where a poorly secured knife roll allowed it to flee its abusive owner.
You, sir, are a sharpener’s delight as it is certain you’ll keep coming back.
Legit though, it isn’t that bad since the entire blade is heat treated. It maybe won’t push cut as pretty, and it might wedge into harder veggies, but you won’t lose as much usefulness as you might think, assuming the pics aren’t misleading.
Good luck and much profit to Mr McKay!

I’m glad you liked them, but after the first one I was kinda lukewarm. I’m a Milla fan from way back, and that’s enough to watch them, but the overall series just doesn’t immerse me.
Not sure how unpopular the opinion is what with the financial success of even the later films, but it sure runs counter to the usual fanboy crowd lol.

Not yet, no.
Current state of the art accessible to a customer is way off from that. Exoskeletons are maybe ten to fifteen years out from being something that’s going to be really ready for prime time, as an optimistic guesstimate. But that won’t be personal gear unless you’re very wealthy.
Honestly, because of how much demand there will be in industrial settings, I don’t expect it to reach a level where the average person can just run out and buy one in any of our lifetimes. Maybe a generation after that? Two? But it is possible that it will within that time frame, but I expect they’ll be absurdly expensive if so. Like high end sports car expensive, if you want them to be worth a damn.
Besides, the spare arm idea is limited in use, as others have said, by the ergonomics of it. A robot arm still needs to be securely attached to you, and the rest of your body has to compensate for the weight and motion. Even with super light materials, you won’t get them lighter than your meat arm unless you want them weak
Gotta love a pleasant misunderstanding lol. I’m right there with you :)

Tbh, I’m only Buddhist by virtue of life philosophy at this point. I don’t place any weight on the spiritual side, just the parts that work here and now to fucking survive.
That being said, I see that wager as a good one, and have tried to approach life that way before I ever encountered Buddhism, or any religion on a serious level.
To me, the reason to be a decent human being in my treatment of others isn’t really moral, per se. It’s that same pragmatic thing. See, in day to day life, the less misery a person spreads, the less likely they are to get caught knee deep in it themselves, in terms of human caused misery. Ain’t a damn thing we can do about the other sorts.
I do believe that being decent is either the default, or the entire fucking planet drowns in the ugly. So I strive to suppress my ugly and do my version of right as best I can.
Reincarnation is meaningless in that paradigm. I would honestly prefer the oblivion of all things after death, but if any of the ideas that float around religions are real, then I’ll take the possibility of escaping the cycle eventually via reincarnation.
