    you know, that was a really relaxing time. why do i need to give you numbers about a project six months into the future that won’t hold up the second we finish? it’ll be six, maybe five, possibly seven months. that should be enough, right?

      I don’t think I’ve ever been part of a project that accurately estimated how long it would take.

        My employer has gone hard into agile, and not just for the software people.

        Having my priorities for the next two weeks rather than guesstimating the next 18 months is so nice.

        Everyone knows you have a hard deadline and work backwards to today. It is immaterial whether that is enough time for the work or to line up appropriate resources. Duh.
