So you’re saying my choices genocide or genocide-lite?

Trump would be a shitshow again. Doesn’t mean I need to vote for genocide Joe

Abstaining does not wash your hands if your choice made it more likely to result in more genocide.

And that’s just talking about a single issue, like you said trump will fuck up a lot more things for many more Americans.

Third party then? I voted third party in 2016. Figured as little as I liked Hilary, she had it in the bag, so might as well do a little protesting, eh? Fuck, was I an idiot.

Look at the polls man. The time to protest was in the primaries. November fucking counts. Don’t claim you will be sitting there in good conscience as Trump throws out all the court cases against him, maybe stacks the Supreme Court for another decade or two of Conservative control, and pours more fuel on the stupid fucking culture wars that the GOP keeps burning to keep us distracted while the 1% are squeezing us for more and more.

You will have had the chance to make a difference, however small, and you will have fucking wasted it. For your “conscience”.

Ah, that was an assumption made because most folks abstain :)

As you suggested, I’ll try again.

If your vote results in more genocide being likely, you have not washed your hands of it.

And that’s just talking about a single issue. Like you said, a trump presidency will fuck things up for many more Americans, so if your vote results in that being more likely, that’s a choice you made.

What it comes down to is do you care about reducing the harm in the real world, or if you care more about having a clean conscience. Your protest third party vote undoubtedly makes more genocide more likely in the real world, but you get to feel good about not compromising your beliefs, which has its own merit.

If you value a clean conscience over reducing harm in the real world, you do you, I just want to make sure you’re aware of the decision you’re making.

Just because you’ve convinced yourself that it works this way doesn’t mean it’s so.

You’re voting for a progenocide candidate. Just remember that when you think “harm reduction”.

Do you have any actual counterpoints, or is “nuh uh” the big one?

What are the odds, in your opinion, of a third party vote helping palestinians in the real world?

The person you’re arguing with is either wantonly dishonest, insane, or both. They’re entirely unreasonable and arguing with them will get you nowhere. On top of that, the audience has moved on. Literally nothing can be gained by continuing the conversation except for frustrating yourself.
