haha… yeah tell that to all of the high level techies in the U.S.
H1B Visas need to be put on pause and U.S. citizens need priority to these jobs. And it’s bs, about how U.S. citizens do get first dibs vs H1B Visa holders. I was with an organization where my boss is an immigrant, when he tasked me, as the IT manager, to review resumes and interview candidates.
After providing him 6 solid candidates, I reviewed their resumes, I interviewed them, the second and final interview was with my boss (IT Ops Manager) he declined all of them, then did his own scouting, resume reviews, and interviews, excluding me from them, he made a clear as day biased decision on a candidate that resembled him and that candidate was on H1B visa.
He fkin played me and the organization and this country and its citizens like a chess game. He collected enough candidates that were qualified, cut me out of the process, and choose a candidate of his preference. Two months later I was laid off.
From that day on, as an IT Manager, never, ever, will I even review a resume much less hire someone that resembles my ex-boss. America, Americans first. Always.
