      Idk, isn’t there a lot to say that he was being fucked with by oolacile, and this twisted into the form he is now via (speculation) magical experimentation? I feel like Gough says something of that nature. I’d think that maybe makes the citizens of oolacile who participated in that the villain(s).

      And Seath, like the other commenter said. If only for kidnapping and experimenting on maidens.

        But they themselves were manipulated by Kaathe to open his tomb. So is Kaathe the villain?

      Fair, but I feel like a villain needs a devious plan. Manus is just the embodiment of darkness

        He was more like this force of nature. I think the true villain in Dark Souls is everyone thinks they will be different, they will be the ones who push the Dark back forever, and they never are.

          That’s a very cool point ds2 made. You start as a cursed one that just wants to get cured and you end by entering the throne and relinking the fire to restart the cycle of the curse
