I am trying to stay open-minded here.
As it is, I don’t see a usage that justify install a privacy nightmare on the system level, an app, or even a browser extension.
The only time I have been using any AI stuff lately is when Brave_Search/Copilot_on_Bing do a quick summary of the search results, and give me the link to the website. It don’t need to constantly see what I am doing for that.
I’m helping some other people write school papers, so I use it as a jumping off point to create a draft outline. Just the main points, then go in an start writing off of that. I don’t really know much about the subjects I’m helping with, so rather than me investing hours of research, it helps summarize the important points quickly. It’s not great at writing essays though (or I’m using the wrong prompts), and it just spits out bullet points, so I basically have to convert those to “essay format” anyways.
Before that I struggled to see it as anything other than a novelty, but in this context it’s super useful.
