The pragmatic side of me also recognizes it’s still going to be necessary for a while, so I guess a question I’m on the fence about is would we rather get it from national sources or keep relying on countries like Saudi Arabia? I don’t mean to make it a false dichotomy cuz I have extremely surface level exposure to the topic but if anyone’s got some thoughts on it I’d love to hear

Those two things (as you state them) are not necessarily mutually exclusive if oil production happens in places other than federal lands.
