No, again, what you explicitly just described was them going to the right and winning elections because of it. How does that make him go to the left?

I’m arguing, and you don’t seem to agree with this, that Democrats are not actually as left leaning as you think they are. They aren’t refusing to enact progressive policies because it’s not politically tenable. They’re refusing to do so because they do not believe in it.

They are much quicker to go to the right than they will ever be to go to the left. And if you think that somehow rewarding that behavior is going to change their minds, then I don’t know how to convince you. You just aren’t being a rational actor.

Dude, when you run against an incumbent (Trump) you have to run a centre candidate. Then you have that person for 8 years.

Democrats are not actually as left leaning as you think they are.

Dude, they can’t be as left as you want them to when they lose ANY of the following 3: 1) House of Representatives, 2) Senate, 3) Presidency.

Any. One. Of. Those. Three. Which they can lose at any point. And if they lose ANY one of those three, they have to compromise.

So how do you ensure they don’t have to compromise? Make sure they don’t lose any one of those three.

      behavior

Let’s evaluate the last say 24 years. Obama had all 3 of house, senate, and presidency for 2/8 years. Biden had it for 2/4 years. Let’s add it up for the last 24 years: That means Dems had it for 4/24 years. Read that again, they had control for only 4 the last 24 years.

And if you want the filibuster proof majority, then Obama had it for 4 months. Not years, MONTHS. Biden never had it. That’s 0.333 years of the last 24 years.

Look at those stats: Dems had control for 4 years of the last 24 years. If want filibuster proof control, Dems had control for 4 MONTHS of the last 24 years. But you want to bitch how they can’t do as much as you want them to? Do you even hear yourself?

Think this through. How much can you do when you have control for a measly 4 years of the last 24 years - which can still be filibustered, so: How much can you do when you have control for an incredibly measly 4 MONTHS of the last 24 years? Think about this. Seriously, think through this.

That’s why I say if you want progress you have to give Dems overwhelming and consistent victories.
