Totally agree. The fact the guy is basically dead and is used as a beacon for navigating the stars is pretty great. Used as a symbol to let the ruling class continue. Super grim and dark ending for such a bright character.

I also prefer the thought that the Emperor is dead, or in a “dead but dreaming” state.
I try to look on the bright side: we can always ignore and lore we don’t like, plus having the primarchs come back gives us some outstanding models!
