    Apparently they had been giving homeless people some amount of unused hotel space.

    The housing charity said people being declared homeless in Edinburgh who would usually be offered temporary accommodation such as hotels were being sent out of the city due to a severe shortage in accommodation caused by the concert.

        That seems like a great initiative. It seems wild it can be completely undermined because someone famous is having a concert.

          Tbf if there are shitloads of reservations it’s not ‘unused hotel rooms’ anymore. I think hotel rooms’ should be rather a temporary solution while the government is searching for a more permanent shelter. If you decide permanently use a hotel to give people shelter, that’s a great thing but then it’s not a hotel anymore.
