    The Japanese do aspire to perfection in everything, and treat even mundane tasks as a measure of their competence and worth, so this guy’s reaction seems culturally appropriate.

          Imo Yes - he takes the house work with the same honor and perfection he learned from being a Yakuza. I thought of it, because he also makes some sushi in one episode.

          It’s on Netflix, short episodes. You’ll already know by the second episode, if it’s something for you.

          There’s no classic action, only awkward situations. If that’s your cup of tea, i would give it a try.
