When I think of literacy and news, I definitely think Mississippi is the direction a place that birthed Powell’s should be going. It goes without saying also that media is in dire need of consolidation.
Florida is ranked #1 in their methodology…USnewsandReports, The same site that popularized “college rankings” in the 90s and was hardly scientific about it.

Mississippi outranks Oregon. That is something I would not have expected. I can’t even understand people from Mississippi.
