Whenever you have anything you don’t need for survival, give it to someone who can use it to survive. You can’t force anyone else to do this, but if enough of us do it, then we we will live in the Utopia described. If we dont do this, then we are actively fighting against this Utopia. Disingenuous, how? I absolutely agree that philosophically, it would be nice to work for the good of everyone else. It doesn’t make me actually want to live my own personal life in that way. I am human, and I have some selfish tendencies. I have no problem admitting that.
It’s not just you who has a phone. It’s us. I’m in the same situation as you. In theory, I want everyone to have the necessities. In practice, I care more about myself having more than the necessities than I care about everyone having their own necessities. Maybe that will change for me, but so far, it hasn’t. We are not alone in this. It seems to be human nature, which is why we have gravitated towards the system that we have as a species.
