It’s weird how this game keeps getting major foundational engine updates when they’ve said they’re not going to keep using the custom engine and the story updates are complete.

Almost feels like they’re overcompensating for how badly they dropped the ball with the initial release.

They probably still want to keep selling copies down the road. I didn’t buy witcher 3 until 2022 and I can’t believe I hadn’t played it previously. What an incredible game.

Then try the Witcher 2, just an increible super underrated game.

        You will love it too

The earlier games are far clunkier and take a lot more effort to get into. It’s true that someone who played and loved TW3 is more likely to get over that hurdle, though.

Witcher 1 is really clunky, but 2 feels pretty good already and I’ve enjoyed the story a lot, almost more than 3

I got pretty far in w1, it was the first I tried. I own them all, but at the time my computer couldn’t quite do w2. I played a little of it. I do intend to do it at some point. Why is it so underrated?

            Many reasons to say that:

            • beautiful art
            • great graphics
            • nice plotting with enough elements to really absorb you in the quest
            • world with it own personality
            • our beloved Gerald
            • well done / not flat characters

It is true that tw3 is a better game, but if you are really apassionated about it the definitely tw2 will also fill your (already high) expectations.

Nad it is underrated because many people only knows and only explored tw3 without giving any opportunity to previous releases. To the point that a lot of the fan base was created when this game became available for free download in some game platform.

They’re still putting work into the Witcher 3. They just recently released a deep modding tool along with in-depth tutorial videos for how to use it

I hope we get a similar tool for Cyberpunk. It would be awesome if we could add more missions items etc easily. The vast majority of mods currently are just clothing mods.

One enormously clear thing at release was that a lot of content and mechanics were half ready. I recon there was a lot of work towards immersive audio before the initial release that’s only finished now.

Also companies that spend years fixing their broken games often receive a lot of praise for their diligence, maybe getting more commendation than if they’d just released a working game.

I think it’s more that tons of content creators use it as a de facto stress test/benchmark, and AMD/Intel/Nvidia are optimizing things to fully take advantage of their respective hardware such that they perform better in those sorts of “exhibition” scenarios
