You don’t have to look like an eye cancer causing toddler’s game to have good gameplay. I doubt the graphics of Civ V caused the game to be somehow worse, especially since it is still within the top 100, we’ll see whether VI can achieve that feat when it is as old as V.
I think they’d have to pay me for me to consider playing it with those graphics.
And that’s why AAA games are all shiny graphics with little to no gameplay underneath.
