      What they bought was yellowcake, which is uranium ore with most of the non-uranium stuff removed, so… yeah, basically.

      This is distinct from enrichment, which is when you turn one isotope of uranium into another one which does fission better

        Is enrichment turning one isotope into another or when you separate out the different isotopes?

        I know Iran has centrifuge technology for this became Mossad sabotaged them a while back.

          Enrichment is sorting. Breeding is isotope conversion and done in a reactor. (Fast breeding reactor)

          That wasn’t mossad, that was stuxnet from the US. It caused the centrifuges to over speed and break often with associated injury.

          People hear centrifuges and they think those little table top deals you messed with in chemistry class. These are not those, these are high speed multiple story structures.

          I’ll try to find the video but floating around out there somewhere there’s a video of one of the centrifuges overspeeding and essentially exploding.
