        Ha, weird that you started at a different orientation, for me it’s 2 + 4 + 4 + 2 = 12

          Y’all are weird.

          Just take the two missing tiles that jut out on either end and swap them with the two corners that have tiles.

          3 x 4 = 12, easy.

          2 T-tetrominos + 1 I-tetromino = 12 blocks tiles

      it is, assuming they miscalculated because they were just going off of the shape rather than the surrounding tiles.
