minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilinkEnglish4•3 months agoI mean most countries have the infrastructure for jets, these things can start from a aircraft carrier with not even 500 meter length…
minus-square@marcoslinkEnglish6•edit-23 months agoInfrastructure is a main concern every time somebody looks into buying some F-16. (But, of course, not where the jets will land. Other kinds of infrastructure.)
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilinkEnglish2•3 months agoThat’s true, you need to do significant maintenance on aircrafts.
minus-square@SylvartaslinkEnglish2•3 months agoAre there any non-VTOL jets that can actually take off from a carrier without any assistance ? I thought they were either catapulted or the runway had to be sloped upwards (and possibly longer than 500m iirc)
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilinkEnglish2•3 months agoYes they need assistance, but finding straight road with a few kilometers length isn’t that hard.
