Shame they’re going to get scapegoated as some evil mastermind when in reality all the major SFR companies use various 3rd party or proprietary platforms to aggregate comps off zillow, redfin and city data. They’re all circle jerking their own values. Driving values up to the zestimate even if not a turnkey renovated home. And over time they have all brought the rent and sale values up to the absolute limit each market can possibly handle.
This shit is so much bigger than 1 company and nothing is being done to stop them. Landlords need to be taxed so fucking hard they are forced to sell off their portfolios.
