Take some ibuprofen and suck it up. However, I would never go back to other forms of birth control. No periods. No remembering to take a pill. No crying in the fetal position in a pool of blood and pain. No more hormone induced mania. The list goes on…

Trying not to read too far into your comment, but this may be relevant or at least useful information.
Beware of “bumping” the cervix too hard. If she gets cramps or pain afterwards, find a different position. If you don’t know, ask. Also check if the cervix is retroverted (tipped), which brings the strings a lot closer to the vaginal opening and can also explain why you may need a different position. I had to have my strings shortened due to this. You can also request to have your strings shortened later if they are causing problems.
