They do a good job imitating Gibbons’ artwork, but I still question the purpose of this after the live action movie and the motion comic.
The live action movie changed enough and got rid of some of the b-plots (which end up being important to the climax, which is why they changed the climax) so a more faithful adaptation would be worthwhile
For me, the main reason to be excited is that this looks like it’s going to be the most faithful possible adaptation. The movie was decent but flawed, and necessarily had to cut out and change a lot. It wouldn’t have worked at all to try to cram a completely faithful adaptation into a regular movie. The motion comic is just the comic with simple animations added.
A cartoon that tries to stick to Alan Moore’s original concepts and story is pretty compelling.

The live action show was excellent btw, worth a watch if you haven’t seen it.
