    I don’t think running away is the same as giving up and dying! My family is Filipino and we have a concept called “bayanihan”, which is when the villagers would move their houses inland to escape coastal flooding by working together to lift the houses and carry them on their shoulders. I don’t know if it’s worth fighting the storm instead of carrying what you can inland and waiting it out and staying alive

    edit: I guess I should say, if you think it’s worth fighting instead of a coordinated retreat, and you’re willing to lead that fight, then I respect the heck out of you! But I know I’m useless in a fight so you’ll have to let me support you some other way.

      It’s a compelling example but maybe this isn’t a force majeure.

      Maybe it’s not a storm it’s people who will not stop.
