I asked if people chose iPhone for the blue bubbles elsewhere a couple days ago, and while there was some good discourse on that post, the blue bubbles definitely also came up as a reason.
In my experience, when people find out my texts are green, they oftentimes would rather switch to a different platform altogether like Instagram or just not text at all.
Is this actually a deal-breaker in friendships out there?
Birds don’t feel like pets when they are held in big fancy cages. But you know, different strokes…
But what is the alternative? That is equally well as a (recent) iPhone or a (recent, good spec) Android? Afaik it is picking bad or worse, no?
GrapheneOS.
Yes, there’s no good choice. But scolding Google as evil without acknowledging Apple is disingenuous. They both suck as corporations. My friends and I communicate exclusively via homing pigeons though. It’s rather slow but really fun to drive all the pigeons around. I only consume the latest ink made meme reproductions made by my best mate Eustace. The thing is, at least with an Android I actually own the phone and can change it to be more privacy concerned if I wanted to. With Apple you’re scorned by snobs for disagreeing with design choices and made to feel inferior for even suggesting installing an app that goes against their sensibilities (aka haven’t given Apple money). I can install whatever I want, whenever I want on an Android. Hell, I could scrap everything and use an entirely homebrewed ROM if so I wished. Although that’s a result of its Linux heritage and despite Google’s preferences.
