At which point liberty-minded Trump supporters will start questioning the role played by Trump?
Never. Trump supporters will never start questioning anything remotely critical regarding Trump.
All Trump will have to do is deflect in some way. Simply claiming the Democrats in the House forced him to do it etc. even if they are a huge minority at that point. Trumps supporters will readily believe whatever lies he spouts.
