We don’t really have enough perspective cues to conclusively tell if their sizes change. This looks like a direct portal from one plane to another, so I’d assume there’s no size change going on. Dude is going to have extreme culture shock seeing a rat three times their height.
I would prefer that, but judging by the trees, the racoon is about human size… So I guess world building and flavour cLled it a day and dialled in: “it’s Magic: the Gathering I don’t gotta explain shit” ?
