Yea, that’s not what a troll is/does. The guy became a racist and made threats. A tale as old as time.
A troll would be a person doing it solely for getting a rise out of people without actually holding those beliefs. A troll could even be a person pointing the finger at others they say have said such things, causing them to be investigated, when they haven’t done anything.
The word troll doesn’t need to change nor co-opted.
