    I thought the F-35 was the next generation fighter, but the article only mentions this as a replacement for the F-22.

      they’re both 5th generation

      f-22 is basically built to be purely an air superiority fighter, and it’s still probably better at that than the f-35

      the ngad is the replacement for the f-22 because it’s built to the same air superiority brief
