When people mock republicans for something that’s considered personal and harmless… It’s mostly to point out the hypocrisy of their conservative platform which is built on hate for people who are different because of personal or harmless reasons.
I get it that there is such an animosity for the enemy that there is no need to hold the high ground but i sure wish that it was not the case.
No conservative person will understand their hypocrisy or see their own hate through this. All the will see is “hate” and “propaganda” from an enemy. It is actually quite sad to watch american politics from afar.
