One of the reasons this movie has endured is because it’s so well written. Exposition is handled smoothly (through various natural conversations), minor characters are personalized briefly and efficiently, and the suspense just doesn’t let up.
Another reason is Alan Rickman.
I think he’s got enough money to get the best care possible for his dementia diagnosis. Apparently the last 20+ direct-to-video films he made, he was getting around 2 million dollars each and getting his scenes done in 2 days.
Wow that is a “pretty good” pay day!
