    ?? There aren’t many seawalls or flood control in tourist beach towns. That’s why the sand has to be replenished constantly.

    Seawalls aren’t attractive so instead houses are built right by the beach sand that constantly erodes.

      Sea walls and flood control are the very reason the sand is going away. And there are a shit ton of them, largely illegal. People buy 2 million dollar beach home and want to protect it, so they build a sea wall. people want to build in flat coastal plains because it’s easy and flat, but it’s flat because it’s the result of deposition via sheet flooding. You build flood control so that people’s land doesn’t flood every year, this speeds up the water, and the sand goes out to sea as a result.

      Sea walls, flood control, and weak permissive governments that allow the wealthy to break laws are the principal cause of sand loss.
