I use a jailbroken FireTV HD; and I have to keep buying used remotes off of Ebay (the 2nd gen remotes). I don’t have a chromecast modern enough to have come with a remote.
Yeah, I don’t have to modify the remote at all. It’s a FireTV remote; just from the previous gen. The jailbroken FireTV is just so I can sideload AndroidTV apps.
Have you found a generic remote, I hve been looking but the only one I found was the one Logitech discontinued

it’s both hilarious and sad that you have to jailbreak your remote to get it to not have ads
