Except the quality of work done under the Great Break was notoriously bad. Kind of like this meme trying to pass off as something Stalin would’ve said/done between NEP and the revolution.
I think there has been some misunderstanding along the way. Not to mention, if liberalism economics is to be brought into this for some reason, the meme is actually reminding people how effective it was for everyone in comparison, even unregulated.
It’s just a joke about the constant refrain of “Why would anyone do anything without profit motive???” and the brutal dictator Stalin’s penchant for shooting people. It’s not deep or advocating for anything; don’t overthink it.
While completely true, its strange how society (not you personally) is so aware of that and so ignorant of how the hours we work are also bad for our health. Its as if the world went “well, as absolute zero is bad, working as much as possible must be good.”
We can see the “blue zones” on the map where they have significantly more people who live to 100 and not only do they live that long, they live well. We can replicate every part of what they do but we don’t get anything close to the same results.
Well, every part but one. In every blue zone, they all work far, far less than the vast majority of the people in the world.
I think we would work because people want to contribute and people want to feel valued/needed. Most people aren’t like the lazy shareholders or the workshy landlord. Instead, they don’t want to live off of other people’s hard work.

Oh, I haven’t really noticed that. But that makes sense. Not working is bad for your health; whether a gun or a privatised health system.
