    They should also have to pass a certification exam to use self-checkout. If it’s too hard for you to do it without making the customer assistance light flash, they have cashiers that will do it for you.

      Sure but also us older folks over 20 are allowed to buy alcohol and that always flashes the light. And sometimes they have to randomly check a thing you’ve scanned to make sure you aren’t scamming. And sometimes it double scans and, while you can remove the item, they still need to input their ID - they trust you to scan everything, but not to unscan it.

      Like, sure, there are people who struggle, but I’m not sure the customer service light flashing is indicative of the issue.

        If you need to buy alcohol, why are you at Walmart? Go to specs like a normal drunkard. /s

          Alcohol is just part of the weekly grocery budget. We mostly get it at Costco to buy in bulk, but not everything we need is there.

      Those things freak out at the smallest problem. I’ve had them call for help because a UPC wasn’t in the system, a discount barcode didn’t scan, because I used a coupon, because I brought my own bags…
