    And then there are structural nightmares like Cain’s Jawbone, whose pages aren’t numbered, bound, or sorted at the time of purchase; they’re just heaped in a box. Because of course it’s the reader’s job to arrange them correctly.

    That sounds kind of fun. Though it’s a mystery, which is a little less fun than it could be.
