Alice Cooper tops the UK chart with “School’s Out” for the first of two weeks. The song rose to #7 in the US. Some America radio stations actually banned the song from their play lists, believing that it caused rebelliousness against childhood education. Despite the controversy, it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2015.
Alice was the first artist I latched onto as a child because my older brother was a big fan. I never much liked that song, though. Generation Landslide, Prettiest Cop on the Block, Steven… these are some of my favorites.
My aunt actually worked for him back in the day and designed his tour clothing. To say I’m a fan would be putting it lightly!!
