I’m not sure how we messed that one up. Where I grew up had a ton of Red-tailed Hawks and the occasional Swallow-tailed Kites. I always love seeing and hearing them around.
minus-squareKevinFRKOPlinkEnglish5•4 months agoI think it fairly obvious that the first European settlers in North America were far from Ornithologists :) As you’ve most likely already seen to find those links, Red-tailed hawks and (what I think of as) a Buzzard share a genus Buteo.
