A state of emergency has been declared in the city due to a fire at the oil refinery. Eighteen firefighters were injured while extinguishing the storage facility. Five of them are in serious condition. A state of emergency has been declared in Proletarsk.

The Rosrezerv storage facility “Kavkaz” is located near Proletarsk. There are three such storage facilities in Rostov Oblast. In early August , the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked another Rosrezerv storage facility in Rostov Oblast - “Atlas” in Kamensky District.

A comparison of satellite images of the fire at the Rosrezerv oil depot in Proletarsk on August 18, when it was just beginning, and on August 19, a day after the Ukrainian drone strike, allows us to better assess the scale of the damage done to the enterprise: at least 6 fuel tanks appear to be damaged.


At the oil depot in Proletarsk, attacked by drones, 11 fuel tanks have already burned out. The fire has been going on for more than a day, and more than 40 rescuers have been injured during the extinguishing.

According to Baza, today during the firefighting, several fuel tanks were depressurized - an explosion occurred, and huge columns of flame rose into the sky. More than 40 firefighters were injured. Seven of them were sent by helicopter to Rostov hospitals, another 13 people were hospitalized in local institutions. All of them have burns to the respiratory tract and skin.

The fire at the base started after a drone attack and has been going on for two days now. The area of the fire is more than 1,000 square meters, almost 300 EMERCOM employees and 77 units of equipment are working at the site.

New satellite image of the fire at the Rosrezerv oil depot in the Rostov region: more than 10 fuel tanks are already engulfed in flames

Radio Liberty publishes a new satellite image of the Rosrezerv oil depot near the city of Proletarsk in the Rostov region. It was taken today, August 19, at 14:23 local time. The photo shows that the fire continues to spread across the territory of the depot, engulfing more and more fuel tanks – there are already at least ten burning tanks there.
