Back around 2011, I was working at a computer repair shop. The manager thought it would be cool to set up some speakers on our customer data backup system to play music.

In his infinite wisdom, he placed the subwoofer right next to the backup system. I had already warned him that wasn’t a good idea, but of course he didn’t listen.

After about two weeks, the main backup hard drive failed, losing about 100 customers’ backup files.

I just looked at him and said “I told you so” and left it up to him to do damage control with all the affected customers.

Needless to say, after installing a new drive in it, we disconnected the speakers and never used it to play music again.

Just a little advice, never use a critical production system for entertainment purposes.
